for everyone who thinks amped 3 is the better snowboard game, i have one thing to say to you, if you think the controls are so bad with stoked, its because your afraid to try something new. i really thought that stoked did a great job with the control scheme. how else are you going to be able to fit more than 20 different grabs and tricks onto the four pad buttons? ill admit the game is kinda slow at first but once you unlock the media chllenges you wont be able to put the controller down. plus with more than 30 real world snowboard sponsors you never run out of motivation to do the media challenges. i think this snowboard game tops all others before it and makes shaun whites game look like it was made for 5 year olds

the almost great outdoors

stoked is a game that takes you off the beaten path, literally. for the casual gamer or a person who's only experience with snowboarding is ESPN, you probably wont enjoy this game. it is geared for the hardcore snowboarder. these mountains are well created, and fun if you enjoy the sporadic jumps and tons of random logs. it is outdoors at its finest. the problems with this game are plenty, as its only major problem is the spastic controls. if you learn early on that the control function is truly literal, as in when it says right analog up and right trigger, you physically have to go back to neutral on the stick a majority of the time, and then perform the stated movements. the challenges are very repetitive, but there is only so much you can really do on a snowboard. if you go into this game for what it is, a backwoods snowboarding game and not the X GAMES, you can find some enjoyment out of it. its a good start, but only a good one. this game needs to be refreshed hard to become a series, and some downloadable content ala xgames style like a superpipe at the bottom of some mountains would be welcome and open some more doors to a wider audience. i wont hold my breathe for it though.

+best snowboard game out to date!
-controls take a little while to get the hang of
+Weather is really cool, changing snowpack, follow your last line
-grabs all wrong if goofy footed (probably fixable w/ update)
-small budget, new game studio
+No red hair, not sponsored by a superstore (Target, I'm looking at you)
