Star Wars: Republic Commando for Xbox Reviews by Gamers

My review is based soley on the single-player campaign, although I've heard the multi-player is excellent.

Let me start out by letting you know up front that I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan. OK, now that that's out of the way, I LOVED Republic Commando. So this game is 3 years old, but the graphics are great and the game play is a cross between Halo (without the crazy big jumps) and Rainbow six (as far as your squad is concerned, but you have 3 squad members as opposed to 2).

The time period is after the discovery of the clone army on Kamino in Episode 2, but before Executive Order 66. You are in control of a Clone commando team, made up of elite Clone troopers with missions on Kashyyyk, Geonosis, and the derelict spacecraft, The RAS Prosecutor.

I thought this game was better than a lot of today's newer games. The plot is engaging, your squad members, or brothers, actually, each have there own unique personalities (and tongue-in-cheek humor), and the different enemies really keep you on your toes, and scrambling for ammo. You have the ability to heal your comrades, and be healed in turn, so when things get heavy, you've always got someone at your back. But what I think impressed me the most, is your ability to position your team at various points set up for sniping, grenading, and hacking, or on turrets. Or you can do everything yourself, and this allows for a lot of different strategies to come into play.

My one and only gripe (and this may not be a gripe at all), is that I wanted the game to keep going. Not to say that it has a true to-be-continued ending, but when the credits started to roll, I said, "Awwwww..."

Lets just prey for a sequel, shall we? :)

Also, I thought I'd mention that this game worked fantastic on my xbox 360.

I really liked this game cause its the first Star Wars 1st person shooter that has been released in a long time.(i know what your thinking what about Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy well those do have first person shooting but for most of it your using your saber)In this game you are a commando in the republic army but your team is the best this game doesn't have a variety of weapons but get this your main gun can change into 3 different guns now that's pretty nifty! Your 1st gun is a machine gun 2nd you get a sniper rifle and 3rd a rocket grenade thing. Also your other weapon is a pistol that never runs out of ammo which is good and could even save your life am I right? You can pick up different guns from enemies but not many i'm not saying which ones so you'll have to play the game or ask a friend to find out. Also the best for last you also get a KNIFE! which lets you stab your foes and sometimes oily/blood stuff gets on your visor which a windshield wiper laser wipes it off.(this also happens in the rain)One of my favorite things about this game and Probably one of the best things is that when you tell your squad what to do they actually do it! Not like in other games like Star Wars Battle Front ware they just kinda sit there and stare at you like your an idiot.(You wont be seeing that in Republic Commando) Now for the Multi Player I was disappointed when i saw there was only death match and team death match with a CTF added on there. But X-Box live is awesome on this game. The controls and game play are solid and your squad likes to talk. Sometimes the things they say are humorous and other times serious. The story line is awesome and takes you to many different planets and environments i did not like the ending of the game but that's my opion. Also another thing i liked was that there was no vechiles im tired of Star Wars game being centered around vechiles. Thats all i got to say about this great game. The force is strong with this one! ~(ROCK ON STAR WARS!!!)~
