i dont understand some game companies. dont they have game testers that play the games before they put them out for sell. when i play star trek. frist off the controlls are a pain why. number 2 after killing so many enemy s ships it comes to the point its boring. then the save in the game who wants to reply the whole level again and again. the game looks good and its a 19.99 dollare game at best. they could of had a great game. maybe spend one more year on making the game and have it at a level of a great game not a so so 19.99 game. learn from games like gears of war. we the public want great games like gears of war. not some half done game. rent the game have a fun weekend. and send it back. after 2 days of play you will be at the yawn point
This game is great for star trek fans, but there is one big problem with it. If you play in admiral difficulty stay in that difficulty, or any difficulty you pick the whole game, or you will receive no achievement for completion in any difficulty. I played most of the game in admiral and switched to captain and received no completion achievement when I beat it. There is no going back either. You have to restart all over.. (no scene selection).
This game really embodies the combat side of star trek through several different eras. If there is one ship that you particularly like, it's on here. A major plus they did with the designing of the game is the voice-overs from some of the captains of the series. The only complaint that I have about the game is commanding your fleet. You cannot just order a ship to perform one task and stay with that task. You have to monitor that ship closely. It seems like a little too much micro-management, but other than that, this game has terrific graphics, smooth game play, and it has a skirmish level that keeps it fresh. Plus the online is great if you like playing with those "trekkies"! I highly recommend it to any star trek fan or RTS player.
