The touch up in graphics and such is very nice. The game plays very well and is a very nice throw back to earlier gaming. I din't get that involved with the creating stuff but it is very in depth and fun to mess around with. story is good and the few animated movies are fun to watch.

It may be the shortest Star Ocean in it's series (approx 20hrs gameplay), but it really has a unique storyline. You can extend your gameplay by doing multiple sidequests.

Graphic:8.5
Music: 7
Gameplay:9
Story: 9
Overall: 10!

I give it a 10 because it's an excellent remake. Not many remakes come out so great. Square Enix even included lots of additional features such as the "Specialties and Super Specialties, etc".

This game is really worth while for those wanting to begin the Star Ocean Saga or have already played 2 and 3.

Tides Of The Ocean

Amazing salvage from the incredibly anti-climatic Till The End Of Time. I hoped the universe didn't end there! Setting the beginning of this hand-helded series just before The Second Story's a really good idea in allowing more elaboration of the story that we've all been wanting.
Now, I will criticize the game in that there's many Departures from The Second Story: item graphics are made pictures instead of 3D images, same with Area Of Effect spells' display, ability to combine spell effects, length of story line, size of the second world, etc. Still, many people that enjoy earlier generation RPG's will agree, this game is an A+!
