You can't exactly love this game. It's a repeat of a flash game that's been around for a long long time. However, it did make it better and cuter. Squishy Tank is a Japanese toy that also had a short animation paired with it. You could win them from UFO catchers in arcades. Like many things in Japan they were a fad and soon vanished. That has little to do with the game.
According to the story you are training the tanks to be stronger by blowing them up. You blow them up by touching matching colored blocks on the bottom screen while animations play on the top screen. There are combos, chains, and power-ups along with it. The game also has challenges which unlock outfits for you to play with a tank. It also contains a few minigames.
There are 4 power-ups in the game. There is a story, survival, time attack, and puzzle mode. Each is obvious in how they are played. You have challenges that you have to meet of matching certain numbers of each of 5 colors. You also have a shuffle button in case you're having trouble. The game will also automatically shuffle if you run out of matches. No auto game over. When time gets low it will flash and show you which matches you can make to help you out. The game gets very difficult as you move to higher levels but it's not complicated since it's still just matching colors. It does throw in blocks that cannot be removed by matching, only by special power-ups.
Overall it's a decent game, not lots of fun, nothing new, nothing note worthy just decent. It wasn't a bad game, it just lacks in playability. It only does one thing and that doesn't last you too long since it does get old and boring quick. But hey, it's a decent pick up and walk away title when you're bored. I knew it was a puzzle game but I guess I expected more.
