Basically a button masher

What you'll realize quickly is that there are no real differences between the different spidermen except animations. Even though it appears they have their own moves, the use of them is exactly the same. This results in extremely repetitive play, and when it really comes down to it, Shattered Dimensions is nothing more than a button masher - and not even a very good one.

The other major issue I had with the game outside of the overly corny story, is there are sequences where you don't have control of the camera. This leads to very frustrating play, as the camera is zoomed out very far, and you can barely tell your character from the enemy.

Why has it took so long to dive into different aspects of spider-man? Why did it take so long to put carnage back into a game? Why is spider-man stupid comments get worse? Ask yourself this as you have fun playing this game.

The best of the Spiderman games, but...

I love superhero games and have played many that are mediocre at best. The game is better, but it still have some serious shortcomings. Shattered Dimensions' story has absolutely no depth. Some unknown artifact is shattered and its your job to find them. The levels and bosses you do they relate to the game and story, no idea. Maybe you figure that out later on, but I can't finish the game do to the frustrating parts of the game. Graphics are good, but the thing that I didn't care about were the boss fights which at times are frustrating and sometimes difficult to figure out how to kill the boss. The camera can be frustrating as well, especially when crawling on the walls. Targeting objects can be frustrating, especially during boss fights. The RPG element of the game is a good first effort, but is all tied to the progression you make in the game. You get points, moves and upgrades that unlock as your progress through the game. Interesting concept, but does not add anything to the game. Worth a rent, but I do not recommend a purchase. Gamefly saved me $60!
