Spiderman 3 for the PS2

Warning! This is one of the worst games that I have ever played. Do not waste your money in even renting the game. I am a fan of superheroes, and I thought the third Spiderman game would be enjoyable. The combat is absolutely atrocious. It is button mashing at it's finest. You can punch and kick, and that is about the gist of it. You can upgrade your moves, but even the upgraded moves are tedious. The camera..... What camera? I don't even have the option of having a closer view. I have to stick with the standard camera which is so far out from spidey and his enemies, that they look like a bunch of pixels randomly generated. The graphics are equivalent to an early PS1 game, if that. The part of the game that is usually the most exciting is so monotonous in this game. Of course, I am talking about the web-swinging. You are supposed to push x at the end of your swing to get an extra boost. But, that is so poorly executed, it doesn't even really seem to make a difference in the gameplay. The graphics for the buildings are the same monochrome color, and just look bad. You can do little side missions to deal with gangs, but those are repetitive and boring. I played the game for about an hour, and I promptly put it back in the case and returned it to gamefly. The only saving grace in this game is that the narrator is Bruce Campbell, from Evil Dead. Unfortunately, Bruce's witty quips can't overlook this pathetic excuse for a game.
