Fell short of expectations

I was very excited about Spider-Man 3, so when I got my hands on this game I was very happy. The beginning of the game explains how fights play, and how to jump and run, etc. At first performing these simple tasks were a bit difficult, but eventually I got the hang of it. The biggest hindrance was the poorly done camera, which constantly works against you and makes sure you have no clue what the heck is going on. Once I got out onto the streets of New York, things began to look up. While the camera is horrible for indoor levels, it isn't so bad outdoors. I started to have fun for a while, but as the mission progressed, the game became increasingly more frustrating. Eventually the collection of problems became so bad I just wasn't having fun anymore. And that's the point of games, right? To have fun. At least, that's what I think.
What problems could be so bad? Well, first off, the fighting is erratic, and dodging enemy attacks is supposed to be as easy as holding the Left Button, but it only works about half the time, and the other half, you'll get pounded regardless of whether you try or not. Sometimes swarms of enemies (10 to 15 at once) will make it impossible to win fights because you're simply outnumbered. Also, Spider-Man does not respond as well as you'd like, meaning that no matter how good you may try to get at the fights, shoddy controls will spoil it. Since most of this game consists of Web-Swinging and fighting, the fighting should have been worked out better and made smoother. Also, the missions are confusing and only through repetition can you eventually figure out what the heck is going on. You'll often die or fail the mission for no reason, and only after many, many retries will you catch on to the one obscure thing that's going wrong.
Besides fighting, there are some boring missions like taking stupid photos for the Daily Bugle, and taking M.J. on a "Thrill Ride" which really isn't all that thrilling.
Overall I hated it.
