Yeah like i said the story is based on a better story.
Although the screen tears, Character/weapon/environment textures not loading correctly during cutscenes and gameplay. The fact that the last level is actually broken and crashes your system is really frustrating. So spec ops the line goes into the "games too broken to finish" file.

This appears to be another run of the mill first person shooter. It's true but it has a more compelling story than any shooter I can think of. At the heart it's a cover based shooter, and a solid one. It's fun engaging and well done. It's also really really short. One day or two of any serious play will see the campaign finished. It's also likely you will push through the short game to see if it explains what is going on. Which it does, sort of, but the confusion you feel in the story isn't off putting, you echo the main character's confusion but determination to push on. Also the story is not for the faint of heart, it's messed up and doesn't play the war is a pretty fun game feel of most shooters. This is a war is bad feel, messed up things happen when you are in extreme situations and there is no happy hero feeling good about shooting people. Which is a nice change. It's about time there was a game which reflected some of the mental stress of these situations.
Anyway, rent this game. Finish it, maybe replay it to make more sense and then return it. It's a great rental title, it's a game people should play and one that could impact the genre significantly. It gets a 7 for me because it's really short and limited replay ability to me. It might be worth more but to buy these are major issues, as a fan of the genre or the new wave of real stories in gaming it's a must try.
