Clearly Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" was the driving vision behind this game. Love the action, the music and the story concept but I think they went too far by making it an all-out extermination battle pitting Walker (Willard) and his Delta Force squad against an entire American Army commanded by the renegade Colonel Konrad (Kurtz). Frankly it was disturbing to be placed in this scenario but I guess that's what they were trying to achieve. They were obviously trying (and succeeding) in showing the ugly consequences of poor choices you make. Unfortunately there are very few opportunities in the game to choose to do "the right thing". The few choices you are allowed to make result in little or no difference in the end that I could see. Instead you are pretty much dragged through the mayhem, standing in command of a hellish killing machine and there is very little you can do to change it. I would have preferred alternate endings that reflect the result of different choices. But having said that the game is still definitely worth a shot (pun intended).
