I was a bit skeptical after seeing the commercials for the game, I hadn't even heard of the Spec Ops series, but wow this game blew me away. The campaign is awesome and the story was thrilling from start to finish. The twist at the end will drop your jaw in amazement and the shear terror of this nightmare will keep you playing all night. Your character is a captain of Delta Squad, a team of 3 special operatives sent in to aid in the evacuation of Dubai, a city caught in despair. Betrayal, deception, and much more come into play as you find you and your squad caught in a war zone in a city trying to survive.
This game is going to rock you morally. You have choices to make in this game. Choices like in Mass Effect like what you say to others, but tough choices that impact the entire campaign, you will think about these choices for a long time, and you will feel regret no matter which choice it is you make. This made me want to play through again and the second playthrough is just as thrilling as the first.
The gameplay is pretty well done, much like Gear of War, a third person shooter and using cover in combat. The only problem is the cover system is a little rough. The game doesn't really let you move cover to cover, which is frustrating if you are trying to flank a 50 cal. But this is easily forgettable as the action in this game is awesome.
Definitely worth renting this game, multiplayer is a bit of a bust as the cover system is lacking, but free DLC is on the way for coop fans. The story takes around 8 hours but you will want to play through again, I wouldn't buy it for just the campaign. Rent this game and enjoy the story.
