Wow. No wonder Sega went out of business. This is quite possible the worst game I've played in some time. Clearly, the Sonic team didn't quite grasp the whole "Wii remote" thing. They make you use the 1 & 2 buttons instead of the A & B. Very awkward. And the cheesy 1990s pop-punk song is still giving me a headache.

This game feels pretty shallow. Although it's fun for a while, there aren't many levels at all. Instead, you do each level over and over with different objectives. That gets very annoying. The graphics are decent, but the voice acting is absolutely terrible. I'd rent before you buy. Graphics 8 controls 8 Sound 6
When the control setup of Sonic for the Wii was announced, I thought it was genius because I was gaming away with Excite Truck for hours and hours strait. Sonic is controlled roughly in the same fashion, however the player is -severely- limited in what can be done to control Sonic.
The major flaw of the game is that Sonic is confined to a path of which he cannot leave. So yes, you can "steer" Sonic, but by only a small amount -- and the only point of "steering" is to get a ring or not. What is sad is for about 30% of the level/map Sonic is flying around, doing loops, and collecting rings all while player could be talking to a buddy with the Wiimote sitting on the table.
The story is kinda neat when they introduce past characters as Arabian Nights characters, but its geared towards the very young as expected.
Graphics are very nice. Huge 3d objects/worlds, nice color, and a good frame-rate.
