This is a lot better than the ones that they tried to put out in the past though. Brings back the old school play of the first sonics on the sega with updated graphics, sound, and moves. It brings back the speed and quick thinking that the older ones had. I really enjoyed this game but it got old fast. If your a huge sonic fan then this game is a must. If your not, don't even pick it up.
The Good Brings back the old school sonic. Speed, quickness, fast thinking. I like the new moves and the controls are very good. The graphics are awesome in this game and you meet some intresting characters along the way. Brings back some good memories of the old school.
The Bad The story is horrable but as it should be. It's a sonic game aimed at little kids. To me the game got stale really quick. Seeing you can't move on to the next level until you beat the one in front of you. Which can get irritating at times.
So far as a PS3 owner I have been very disgruntled with the Wii and Wii games. I do however, feel that this game was very fun and they did an excellent job working in the Wii controller. The addition of the Party mode is just a bonus. I found this version much better than that on the PS3 despite the storyline and lack of animation in the story. Definitely worth renting.

Anyone who seriously and thoroughly enjoys this game needs their head examined. There's 3 things that ruin it entirely, and I'll list them in signifigance:
1. Absolutely horrible soundtrack. It mainly consists of this really bad rock song that the first time you ever hear it it's somewhat annoying, but when they play it everytime you complete a mission, enter a screen, and more annoyingly: DIE, they play the same freaking song over and over!
2. Ranks up there with one of the worst storylines ever. In all my life of gaming, I have NEVER skipped a cutscene until this game. I felt like I was watching a really bad Disney sequel or something.
3. Voice acting is really incredibly bad. The voices are so annoying that it's almost as if SEGA takes pride in that fact.
Okay, I'll say one good thing about the game. If you have the component cables and play this in 480p widescreen presentation... it's easily the best looking title on the Wii. Some could mistake it as looking as Sonic on 360. The controls which many reviewers said were really frustrating didn't seem to frustrate me as much as the things I listed, so they're not a complaint from me.
Overall, beautiful graphics displaying a great sense of speed doesn't make up for the absolutely horrid cons that I listed. SEGA could have easily done something about all of them, especially the soundtrack. Save yourself the rental people unless you really plan on getting annoyed. Sonic is truly going down the drain. Perhaps if you skip all the cutscenes and play the game on mute it would be twice the experience, but nothing spectacular.
