Sonic Chronicles is okay

Sonic Chronicles starts out as a great game. Good design, good graphics and the best thing that happened to Sonic since the Sega CD.
It starts out as a good RPG, and the battles are fun.
The problem though is that is stops there. The battles that are fun at fun become increasingly repetitive and hard. To the point that normal attacks are worthless and you have to rely sorely on special attacks.
The problem though is that you have a limited number of items to recover your attack power. You can buy more, but you also have a limited number of coins available to you, which you should be spending on equipment. You can recover it by returning to the base, but most of the time it's a long way off, and some stages dont even have one.
Regular battles take too long and most of the time becomes harder than boss batles.
Sonic Chronicles has a nice variety of characters that you can play with that can do different things, but some are uselles.
Chaos are back in the game, and even though you can collect a few hundred of them, they have only 5 different kinds, which kind of beats the purpose.
The story is just lame. But I will not soil it here.
Sonic Chronicles is the best thing that happened to Sonic since Sonic CD, but that's not saying much!
