I am thoroughly enjoying this game title. I am an adult, but I think this game would appeal to all age ranges. The game consists of a central world, existing in the Peanuts base ball park. You can go to the flight school, and Pigpen's store, to purchase weapon, stunt and health upgrades.
From this central world, there are bill boards, which act as hubs to the game level worlds. You fly into a bill board, and select which level to play from that game level world (similar to a Mario game structure). There appears to be one world for each Peanuts character, and each game level world you complete, you unlock a new plane from one of the other characters. There are also plenty of extras to pick up; coins, different colored balloons, power-ups, and so forth.
The graphics and music in the game are quite decent, and the 3D Peanuts representation holds very true to the original 2D cartoons. The voice acting is not always perfectly on spot, but it does represent the original Peanuts feel, through-and-through.
The controls in this game are perfect. They are both very easy to learn, and they are very tight. Don't let the Peanuts theme fool you, this is a high quality game, that's provides lots of fun and laughs. The level design is very enjoyable, and I find myself re-playing many levels for the sheer enjoyment of the view.
The are two minor reasons I did not give this game a 10 rating. The game does have some fairly long load times. However, I find this excusable, considering the game clearly is taking advantage of everything the PS2 system can handle. The game also does not provide multiple difficulty levels, however, there are several modes of play, other than the basic campaign. Being that this is a budget title at $20 brand new and how much replay value is packed in, all of this is completely forgivable.
This is a light-weight, "jump in/have fun quick" type of game, that doesn't fall through on the controls, challenge or replay value! Highly recommended!
