IGN Preview of Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior
The original Sniper: Ghost Warrior attempted to capture the thrill of sniping; finding good locations, lining up a shot, and watching the devastation unfold in slow-motion glory. But run-and-gun sections and some other issues brought strong criticism down onto Polish developer City Interactive's sniper sim. When the team set out to design Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, they took these critiques seriously.
Ghost Warrior 2 does away with the run-and-gun sections in favor of a complete sniper experience. You control Private Security Consultant Captain Cole Anderson on various missions around the world. By employing stealth, hand-to-hand assassinations, and the titular sniping techniques, you take down targets with skill and a little patience.

Realistic bullet physics return in Ghost Warrior 2, tasking you with factoring distance, wind, and bullet drop into the equation when taking a shot. This takes a lot of practice, but Anderson won't always go in alone. A spotter will occasionally join you on missions, marking targets and calling out shots in real-time.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 launches later this year for 360, PS3, and PC. It includes a complete single-player campaign featuring Captain Anderson and a competitive multiplayer suite that pits you against fellow snipers.
