Ok, here's the deal this is the best PS2 tennis game there is, the only problem, that still does not mean it's perfect. When you first start playing this game you will probably think it's ok, but it's way to hard, and it is. This game is really hard, but once you put some hour's into gameplay, you might just change your mind.
The CPU in this game can be cheap, rarely hitting the ball out and if they have good speed get ready cause your gonna be in for a tough match. Ah, but this is where you putting some gameplay time in and over coming such problem's comes into play. You see this game is all about getting the ball in one more time then the other guy and there are lot's of way's to do that you just have to use all your shot's. This game makes you become a all around player you can't always just hit the ball back hard or you will get tired very quickly, you can't slice all the time either cause then the CPU will slam it in your face. No, the best shot to use is the volley, because it is hard enough to where they can't slam it back at you, and still not to hard that it would tire you out. Once again you have to use all your shots in this game, you just have to use them at the right time, if you get a little open court daylight Hit the hard shot for the winner, if the CPU just won't let the ball get by them then slice the ball make the come up to the net and then hit a passing shot for the point. It's not easy, but once you get the hang of it, it's fun.
Ok now let's get to the mode's and such the game has a few standard modes and a deep Tutorial, but the real fun is in the deep Pro Tour mode in which you make your Tennis player and then take him or her though an entire career complete with all the Grand Slam's of real life Tennis season's like Wimbledon, and a bunch of smaller Tournament's in between. There are only 16 real Tennis pro's in this game 8 Men and 8 Women, the same amount as Top Spin, but guess what? This game is WAY more fun then Top Spin.
