Sleeping dogs is really a Mafia 2 or a gangster kind of game with Hong Kong in it as its setting. The real main story is a guy named Wei Shen being born in Hong Kong and then moving to the states because of his sister Mimi's drug problem, and after some Police issues he becomes a cop and is ready to go into an "undercover" operation back in his home of Hong Kong. Its not really the BEST game ever but it deserves a 9/10 just because its a different setting, different idea's on how to play so its like instead of going around shooting people up its mainly your fists then the guns.
A couple reasons i didn't like about it is that you can carry around a weapon but only a pistol.
The Collectables are fun to find but kinda get boring after awhile.
Not really much to explain since its my first review, just try it and find out if you like it.
I was a little leery about playing this because I was told by a few people who played it that it was a "Hong Kong GTA rip-off". After taking the chance and putting 22 hours into it in a week, I can say those people were wrong! 100% wrong! It's such a good game. It has so very few minor flaws that are barely remotely annoying from time to time, but it's almost the perfect game for people who like free roam action adventure games like this and like GTA and Saints Row. I would have to say one of my absolute favorite parts was the small amount of guns used in the game. I have nothing against guns, but I find it much more fun and challenging to have more hand-to-hand combat in a game than just shooting everything and everyone.
tl;dr PLAY THIS FREAKIN' GAME! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

To start of, this game has a great storyline. I found myself losing track of time because I would get so caught up in the story. Even the side missions are fun. The combat system is very similar to the batman arkham city/asylum combat system (minus the weapons and gadgets). I had to get used to the combat system again but after a couple of fights I got used to it. I would DEFINITELY recommend renting this game as it is one of the best games I've rented in a while.
