Skate 3 is fun, and definitely a must-rent. But you shouldn't buy it unless you're sure you like it. I enjoyed the intro. At some points I was pretty sure it had real people in it, and not just animation. I also liked the intensity, places to explore, secrets, and the occasional breaking of the fourth wall. The controls are easy or hard to master depending on how adaptive you are. So you may or may not find it playable. I did though.
Pros: Great graphics Many places to explore and more ways to discover or get to them. You can skate on %99.99 of everything in the game. Plenty of ways to play. Many challenges that will never bore you. Great challenge. Lots of ways to customize your characters.
Cons: Physics can sometimes mess up your skating experience. Tons of glitches. You can only have 3 spawned skaters with you at a time. Which is not enough. You may get frustrated sometimes with the difficulty of some tricks. Some tricks are extremely hard to execute.
The third installment in the "Skate" franchise is a successful endeavor. This as with the other Skate games becomes repetitious and very monotonous but is incredibly fun while it lasts. Which is way longer than a rented games usually warrants. Personally, being not an actual skateboarder, just a common fan out the sport, i would not purchase this game. However, i would recommend this to almost anybody.
this game is amazing, its got an amazing physics engine for all around gameplay. Tricks and moves list always gets better and better, and the super ultra ultra mega mega mega park is fun!! I think overall the "team up throw down" online thing is okay, however I'm not a big skate online person. My least favorite thing about this honestly is the advanced mode. I realize there should be difficulties, however it makes it literally impossible to flick tricks most the time, and as a consister skate player, I feel when something works, don't change it. So that would be my only complaint on it.
