Horrible

Skate 3...

WORST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! when in a skate competition half the time the points that you accumulate don't stick (yes i am landing the tricks). About 90% of the time when i go to pull a grab trick the skater flips the board upside down and the board (WHILE UPSIDE DOWN) locks to the skaters feet causing you to crash with no way to reverse it before crashing.

like the previous skate games 99% of the music playlist sucks. only one or two of the songs are worth listening to. DO NOT RENT THIS GAME!!!!! i put it back in the mail the same day. I didn't even want the game overnight. waste of time

As a skateboarder for the past 20 years this is a complete insult to the skateboarding world. I get they were trying to make the game feel more "real" but the controls are anti-intuitive making near impossible to make the tricks you are trying. On top of that the game play is unclear and the maps and progression through the game is murky at best.
With all the pros attached to this game it is a severe disappointment.

Skip it.

I know that having people and cars makes the game more realistic but it ruins it during a death race I hit a guy who fell down after dodging another skater and a car rammed into me when I got back in it I sent it back right after about the 50th time this happened

Where do I begin, well, I'll go over the positives first. The game-play seems (to me) a little smoother than 2, which I own. The addition of the dark slide option was pretty cool. There is a hyped up online mode that I did not play, but from my research into other issues I found out it is an amazonian size cockroach of a bug (i.e, it doesn't work). The biggest draw for me was the park editor. Theoretically you can make all manner of parks and even download them if you don't want to take the time. That, however, is the core of my problem.
In order to get items for your park you have to complete single player missions, which are standard but fun. The problem, at least with the 2 (yes 2) copies of the game I got was that you can only play an undetermined amount of missions (or whatever) before the game..sorta..freezes. You can hear background noises while the loading icon is spinning but the game never loads. Furthermore when I reset the game, it forces my ps3 to reset too. Not cool skate 3, not cool. I thought maybe I just had bad luck with both copies (to clarify the first one never loaded anything), but It's kind of hit and miss with other copies as well (according to the all knowing forums).
All in all, It's a big disappointment, if only for the fact I wanted to buy the game for the park editor, and I cant trust to buy a game this buggy. Not to mention it is, in the end, skate 2.5, not really skate 3. The game is fun if you get a good copy but....ya know.

My 2 teenage boys played with game for hours daily. They enjoyed every bloody scrape the game allowed. It may be 'bloody' but at least they were not outside doing this in real life. Gave them the ability to have skills they aren't physically able to do in real life.

Got this game thinnking about how I used to play the tiny hawk serious and noticed tony hawks games weren't doing to good now a days so got skate 3. I hate the controls and gameplay is to diffrent from other skating games probably could have played it for a while and got used to it but I wanted to skate not learn how for 2 days. My advice don't get this game if you like tony hawk old games now there's tony hawk pro skater hd online try it out!!!!

I saw Skate 3 sitting on a shelf in my local Gamestop. It got good appeal, so I decided to give it a try. It was one of the best video game choices I have made in my life. You create your own skater, who happens to be the owner of a skating team. You give your team a name and a logo. I chose "brontosauri" and a skeleton blue dinosuar as my logo. Your objective in career mode is to sell skateboards by doing seperate tasks, from hall of meats to street contests. If you sell a certain amount, you will unlock gear to equip your skater with. You will get teamates along the way that you also name and customize. It's a complicated concept, but the end result is very addicting. If you are not a complete-the-whole-game kind of gamer, than you can choose freestyle mode where you can even hit people if you press R1 next to a pedestrian. In the end, whatever type of gamer you are, you will always find fun in Skate 3.

the best skate game yet however just like all the others there are major flaws the one flaw that will annoy you probably the most is when you are in a challange if the game doest want you completing a particular objective you simply wont complete it then you have to restart the whole challange also when you get high air and land when you land it always says sketchy and it take away points sometimes thousands of points that and your teammate in contests make some of contests near impossible the most obvious flaw is that it gets very repetitive as you play the last flaw i saw in the game was the multiplayer the online is very laggy and you have to buy an add-on for split screen play even then you have to pass the player 1 controller around because the game cant support another controller bottom line dont buy but rent if you like single player games but dont rent or buy if you like multiplayer games

The game is both terrible and fantastic at the same time. It's a paradox in the same way that a black hole is massive yet smaller than an atom. The game itself is fantastic because it's terrible.

You should play this if you want to laugh.

This game is just,hmmm, ((Choices))(Awesome)(Epic)(Fantastic)(Joyous)(Frajous), Frabjous!!! This game is Frabjous... i'm not a skater, yet I find myself drawn to every skate game the has come out, but this is the best... ya I do tricks, I try and be cool, Do my own thing, But I always end up a skeleton jumping off building trying to see what (or who) to land on... This game has everything, pain, awesomness, pain... ya thats about it, BUT WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED IN A GAME WHERE YOU CAN BE A HUNK OF MEAT ON A SKATEBOARD!!! Case setteled...

This game gets annoying at times. Especially when you're challenged to grind a rail that is nearly impossible. The commentary at the competitions is absolutely annoying. You step off your board for five seconds and the announcer says the same thing over and over. One thing that bugged me was how creepy your character always looked no matter how you modified his face. Competitions can be hard but only because your team mate will either barely do anything or the bowls are designed poorly to get enough speed for any tricks.

It is a fun game but....Its the same as Skate 2 and the Original

Nothing is new, Other then the environment and clothes NOTHING is new and I personally don't see how they could make another game.

This is basically Skate 1.3

Look I skate, so I take skateboarding pretty serious, but I think a repackaged game of 1, and 2. Is just what this is. I will always support people involved with this game. Fun if you like to skate, or skate games. Support the pros in it if nothing else..

This game for me was a sort of Love or Hate relationship, in other words, i loved the fact i could pull off some nice tricks, but ultimately hated it when i couldn't, and would spend the next 20 minutes trying to complete a challenge, because i made one mistake.

As far as game play, I didn't feel this game had any real depth, for most of the time, I was just jumping from one challenge to the next, free skate mode was pretty boring in my opinion, but i suppose free skate was just a way to improve your tricks and get better over time, but other than that, free skate really had no challenge, as far progression.

The multiplayer aspect of the game really felt unfinished to me, and i found myself quitting online sessions often.

Skate 3 can be fun at times, lining up grinds, and chaining tricks together gives a feel of accomplishment.
But when tricks go wrong, it can get very annoying, cars, and pedestrians can get in the way most of the time when your trying to pull off a trick, only to land on your face, other skaters as well can get in the way of your grinding, gaps, and what-not, while you fall down, and they continue on skating.

This is a game i'd recommend renting, but i wouldn't buy it.

this is one of the best game i have ever played. the multiplayer is OK you can free skate a do different challenges. and the tricks are insane. graphics are good i highly recommend this game great game to buy.

It was a really fun game at first, that is until it started locking up every few minutes. Upon close examination of the disc, i noticed a chip was missing off of it, i am not so mad that i couldn't enjoy the game as i am shocked as to what someone put that poor disc through to cause that damage.

what can i say about skate 3 but it's kool ... it's fun to play sweet to see what you can do & what you know ... but other then that the game was SWEET the gameplay flow is good the story can use more work but other then that is a good game . the online stuff is really where it's at all the free skate & team stuff to . all of the skate's are good 1-3 . i just think the story line needs more work that's all

I made an account just to write this review. Such a terrible game recycled garbage as Skate 1 and Skate 2. Visuals are horrible its so dark that it's like you're skating on a shadow and when theres a gap you dont even notice it until your skater falls into it. AI's are lame they overpass you and you can't even accelerate even when you're constantly holding X. In other words, dont support EA you guys are just feeding them and they are becoming more and more lazy

I loved this game! it is the best skate game out of all other skate games. It's funny, challenging, and fun. The controls are very easy too and are fun to toy with and see what you can do. The cheats and codes are sweet also.

CHEATS:

First you have to go to (Freeplay) If you go to game settings and go to cheats, you can type in cheats codes like: (miniskaters) If you type that in all of your skaters become mini! If you type in (mcfly) Your skate board becomes a hoverboard. Basically the trucks and wheels come off your board. Then if you type in (deadspacetoo) you become the main character from Dead Space 2.

This game was fun and is great for skate freaks!
