At first I thought this game was going to be one of the greatest RPGs that have come out in recent years, but with all its hype I was disappointed. The game although fun and comical, does have a repetitive nature. And having to switch between characters to complete certain tasks does get old. One thing that bothered me most is the poor layout of the default controls. the camera angles do not let you face the camera in the direction you want esp when you are in tight quarters, other games I've played do allow this. So after only a few days of playing it, I have to return it. I gave it a 7, because it is creative and fun, but the controls lack, and there just isn't enough to keep someone interested for long.
This game is fun for a few hours or so then becomes rather dull, however humor keeps it interesting enough to finish. It may be the best simpsons game to date, mainly a 3rd person adventure type gameplay which will have you jumping around and collecting objects and solving puzzles to get to the end all while encountering Simpson character enemies. Gamerscore ability is pretty good 350 for blowing through the title and probably 25 hours of gameplay needed to find the items and get the full 1000. It's worth a gamefly rent however I wouldn't buy it myself.
This is a game worth renting. No, it won't make you stop playing Halo 3, but it does pass the time between waiting for Call of Duty 4 and Mass Effect or Assassins Creed.
Graphics are outstanding, the cut scenes are seriously impressive and fun if you are a Simpsons fan. The HD quality cut scenses are worth it alone! Sound is fun, and all the insider jokes and cliche's are fun too!
Bad part about the game is the camera, controls and frustration factor. It can really drive you crazy when the camera won't pan the way you want because of a wall. It's also equally annoying when you are in a section of the game that LOCKS the camera - those are the worst. Frustration sets in as you fall off the same platform or miss the same jump over, and over, and over, and over again. And don't forget the endless re-doing of portions of the levels because you need to catch your co-player up to the point at which the main character is at.
All in all, this is worth a rental and a play. It's enjoyable in small doses and actually pretty fun when you get past the annoying parts.
