Being a Silent Hill addict such as myself i had to take the opportunity to play this game even before knowing what the content was going to be like. I will say that i realized very quickly how the Wii mechanics were going to influence this game. Apart from most Silent Hill games there will be no weapons in Shattered Memories as there have been in previous S.H. games. In exchange for the fight scenarios they have replaced those type of events with a cinematic survival mode where you must run thru areas trying merely to avoid the creatures of silent hill. This was one concern that i had before playing but was far from disappointed once i reached this for the 1st time in game. The survival sections of the game most defiantly did not disappoint, instead they added a new action packed & high paced feel to the game that previous games were lacking. Not even mentioning an amazing story line. In addition they also removed 99% or load times from the game and making the map feel more open... No longer will you have to wait just to walk thru a door. adding a far better realistic feel to the game by allowing you to look thru doors before entering a room that you know will be filled with creatures of silent hill... In all I will have to list this as my absolute favorite Silent Hill game in the series. If you are even moderately a fan of silent hill you will not be disappointed in this game, and if your a first time player to the series sit back and enjoy an amazing adventure in survival horror... ADD TO Q AND ENJOY!!

The creators of the original Silent Hill, never made a game this rich, interesting, or scary!
This game is a rich cinematic experience that redefines the way we look at horror games, as well as the Silent Hill series, and out of the three versions, this is the one to get. Not only does it look better, but the Wii's control setup is a perfect match for a game such as this. A lot of what goes on depends on the decisions you make, right down to how the characters in the cinematics, which are all done with real-time in-engine graphics, look and behave.
I can't say a lot without getting into spoiler territory, but one of the big complaints from people is the fact you can't fight the monsters who attack you. There is a reason for this, and to fully understand, you must play through the game. At times this game will leave you a bit disturbed at times, and to get the full effect you must play it at night, in the dark!
There are multiple endings, and which ones you get depend on how you interact with people, what events you uncover, and the questions you answer during the games between-level therapy sessions, where you are psychologically probed by a charismatic psychiatrist.
