New Polish on Two Old Gems

I dabbled in the original Silent Hill games, but was a bit too young and scared by them. Now that I'm older I can truly appreciate the chilling atmosphere, the nerve-wracking crackle of your in-game radio, and the hellish appearance of the ghouls lurking around the corners. The game gave me chills a few times, and not the nice kind. The kind that makes you sink into your seat, or jump up and double-check the deadbolt of your front door. Perhaps that sounds like a bad thing, but it's really a testament to how effective and immersive the experience is.

The controls might frustrate some people at first, BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THEM! By default, the game makes it so that pushing left on the analog stick makes you turn left. Only by pushing forward do you actually move. This creates moments where you're trying to evade an enemy, and you're scrambling to get away because you aren't moving while you're turning around. The controls felt weird at first, but I came to enjoy them. And if you hate them, you can change them. Simple as that.

Silent Hill 2 and 3 are both included in the package, and each has been left relatively unchanged, with only a new layer of polish on the graphics. SH 2 is heavier on exploration, tactics, and puzzle-solving, whereas SH 3 focuses a bit more on action, letting you move more easily, and giving you more diverse weapons. They are both wonderful experiences, and I'm not even remotely interested in horror films/games in general. I highly recommend them to any gamer.

this game is so slow, its boring i felt like i was going to fall asleep as soon as i started the game. it seems like they tried to copy resident evil and did a HORRIBLE job at it ! i do not recommend this game at all !!

Two of the GREATEST horror games, remastered in HD? Why would anyone not enjoy this?

You have the option of keeping the same voice actors, or listening to the new ones, which I prefer not to. Gameplay is still the game, story is still the game, just graphics look a slight bit better.

I mostly bought this because Silent Hill 2 is my favorite game ever. You will fall in love with this deep story. Silent Hill 3 is also one of the greatest horror games there is.

So what are you waiting for? Rent this game out now!
