Too Trite & Simple

After being a huge fan of RPG and Action/Adventure games that used the active imagination, I am saddened by the constant failure of gaming systems. Simplicity, triteness and linear gameplay, all bundled into cinematic graphics, are the popular trend, with few exceptions.
Sid Meier's Pirates isn't one of them. The gameplay suits adolescents, not adults, nor even juveniles. What about challenge, thinking and persistence? Sid Meier's offers none of them. I gave it a 6 rating becaused I played the game for seven hours, hoping it would intensify. Nope.
