Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution for the DS has a pretty good concept. You basically take a struggling civilization from the stone age to the space age. You start with one city and you build up from there. I really liked the game as a whole, but the graphics weren't that good. The other civilization leaders tend to declare war on you, no matter if they're Ghandi or Genghis Khan. Every time you start a new game, you go through a tutorial, no matter how many times you play it. The leader and civilization choices are limited.

I must admit that when I received this DS tittle I did not know what to expect. Having played the PC CIV IV I was a little skeptical about what the handheld could deliver. Although the game does not have the depth of its bigger brothers I found that it has a certain charm of its own. The graphics and animations are great for a handheld and it has all the barebone elements that make civilization such a great franchise. This works as a doubled edged sword however because the lack of depth translates into short gameplay matches as well as smaller maps sizes. Overall Civilization for the DS is a great roadtrip tittle for those who need a fix while on the go or a quick match through Nintendo WIFI. It is also a great place for newcomers to the franchise to get there feet wet. If you need something more then a fix however and want the whole civilization experience I would suggest sticking with its bigger brothers.
