I'm not really sure what the big issue everyone has with this game. I got it in the mail yesterday and I can't put it down. I'm writing this review at work because I don't want to lose any race time when I am home. I have the GT5 force feedback wheel and I play all kinds of racing games both arcade style and realistic style. I love them all, but some more than others. I think the best racing games over the years have come from the Codemasters camp but this one comes close in my book. The graphics are great. The drive-ability of the car is excellent and I love to race on the track and on line. I really like the helmet cam feature but I can only stand it for a little while. It seems to be something you have to get used to. I use multiple view modes and this game has them all. Lots of options, lots of upgrades, lots of cars equals lots of fun.
If you are comparing this to GT5, don't! It's not the same type of game. You can't compare it to Need For Speed Hot Pursuit either, it's a racing game not street racing with arcade physics. If you want to compare this to another game, try Grid! It seems pretty close with a new look and NFS feel. Trouble driving, I have to agree with GameIll, practice.
For me, I love it. Race on! I do not like NFS and Sony forcing the "pay for on-line" play, that's been a big plus for PS3 over XBox 360 but I think too many people pirate games and software out there so the writers have to do something. I think it's all greed!
