Just plain frustrating

Let me say right off the bat that I tried to give this game a chance, I really did. Yes the graphics are great and there is enough customization to keep you entertained. However, there is really no use of customizing your cars. I started this game off on Hard difficulty and it was fairly easy for a while. But then, it became too difficult to the point where I was restarting every race more than 10 times.
In Shift Unleashed 2, it seems as if no matter what car you use and no matter how much you upgrade it, the AI is faster. As it turns out, the crappier car you drive, the easier it is to place first! Not only that, if you try to bump the AI off the track, it is always you who gets the worst of it. And if they go after you, you end up in the same fate. On the other end of the spectrum, the AI randomly wrecks in front of you very often. I found myself restarting a race 5 times because this one car in front of me would wreck on the first turn of the track for no reason! So I swallowed my pride and switched the difficulty to medium. No luck, the AI is just as stupid and yet, they somehow always end up beating you with a faster car. Unlike any other racing game I have played where straightaways were my chance to gain ground on the computer, in Shift Unleashed 2 I dreaded them because the computer would always pull away from me, even if we had the same car and mine was fully upgraded!
I usually don't quit a game until I get all the achievements, but I only got 135pts from this game before putting it right back in the mail. Save yourself the frustration and skip this game. Do not even rent!!
