Good Concept, Poor Delivery

Upon first starting this game, I enjoyed the story and the dialogue pretty greatly. Unfortunately though it took a long time to get to any actual "investigating". Directions are often unclear and worst of all- you can't really run. I nearly turned the game off, but against my better judgment gave it another couple hours play. I got to the first crime scene and was surprised to find it was delightfully clever and smart. I found myself completely engrossed in recreating the crime and discovering all the small details in the area. Though, that small aspect of the game became pretty scarce particularly since you aren't give the ability to "run" so you just walk slowly through the streets of London. It's not a bad game, just a little frustrating. But if you have some time to kill and are looking for something to work your brain a little, it's a pretty good game.

Played for exactly 10 minutes and replaced back into mailing envelope. Bad graphics, terrible camera and movement angles and controls. Run errands to get information is not gripping for me as a gamer. Another product that should not have been released.

Weak

Another PC Port

Just to clarify, this game is a port of the PC version. It's a simple point and click mystery style game. You play as Sherlock Holmes and sometimes Watson at certain points. Jack the Ripper has struck Whitechapel, London and it's up to Sherlock to solve the case.

GRAPHICS: They are terrible, they look like they originally did on the PC many years ago. The animations are stiff and bland. By today's standards, this is extremely unacceptable.

SOUND: The voice acting is very boring and stale as cardboard. Nothing really exists in the dept. of sound effects or music.

STORY: Solve the case of Jack the Ripper. It's hard to care about it when the voice actors are so uninteresting to listen to that the story drags on feeling like a meaningless task.

CONTROLS: Clunky is the word of this game. Camera moves out of whack, controls are awkward and your character moves at the speed of a snail most of the time.

GAMEPLAY: Point and click to find clues, solve puzzles and gain valuable information.

FAULTS:
-Graphics and animations are so 2001
-Voice acting is poor and sound effects and music barely exist
-Controls are out of tune as opposed to mouse and keyboard
-Some puzzles and tasks are mind numbingly frustrating and sometimes just downright hard as...well you know where I'm getting at
-The story doesn't pull you in, it feels like an obligation

This game wasn't great nor extremely bad. It's a good old fashioned point and click mystery game from way back when, but with just as much pizazz as getting dressed in the morning. Easy 1000G though. I would recommend against it, but if you were, or still are, a fan of these kinds of games, then this is for you my dear Watson.
