For starters I would like to start off by saying that not everything about this game is horrible. It does have a pretty interesting story line. However, that is about the only thing that I found good about it. The graphics on it are horrible, and yes I do realize that this game is a PC game ported to a console, but nevertheless it's still bad. The game gives you the option of playing in either first person or third person. Third person however is just about useless because of the camera angles. Another thing that I found extremely frustrating about it is that when I had missed a step talking to someone that I was supposed to talk to and then went on to talk to the next person. No matter how many times I went back and talked to the person that I had missed it would not let me have the option in the conversation with the other person that I needed to go further in the game. Since I usually overwrite my old saves with the new one that meant that I would have to start the entire game over again. That is so STUPID! For one thing they should've given the option to restart that particular mission if you had to. Overall, I feel that they really didn't put much thought into this game. It was just another one of those games that they just wanted to get it out as fast as possible and didn't try to improve it at all. This is definitely a game that I would NEVER BUY!! It's just a waste of money. I give it a 2 out of 10.
It's by no means an advanced game. The graphics are a bit buggy, and would seem more at home on the Playstation 2, but that aside, the game has a very good story, authentic looking characters (real life street women in that age were far from appealing), great voice acting from Holmes and Watson, and interesting game mechanics make this a great adventure game for fans of the genre. If you're not a fan of the genre, however, then you might get bored.
