Section 8 has no identity, and this budget shooter already got lost in the mix when it came out years ago. It tries to blend elements from Halo, like recharge shields, super sprinting, and jet packs. It also tried to capitalize on the success of online shooters, but the low quality experience won't have you coming back for more.
The short 2 hour solo campaign is a warm up for online play and gives you the basics of gunplay and objectives. You're supposed to work with your team mates to basically win the mission by either eliminating enemies and/or doing small objectives. They're simple, like activating a few generators, or guarding a command point for 3 minutes.
There are surprisingly still a decent amount of players online. I was able to easily jump right into a room, and I somehow got 1st place in my 2 first matches. The quality is lower and the nuisance of over shields and weak guns make it worse. You do have the option of picking multiple classes with unique loadouts, but there is little customization of depth. You can however earn in game cash to build certain structures, vehicles, or supply drops.
Look elsewhere if you want a good campaign, but if you're solely looking for MP, this may be your game. 80% of achievements are also done online, so it can be difficult for easy gamer points too.
