It is no Night of 100 Frights

In Scooby-Doo: Mystery Mayhem You start off with a mystery, only to realize each off the five mysteries intertwine and eventually come together to reveal the answer to the mystery. The game feels like you are in a Scooby Doo episode, complete with jokes and canned laughter. The story line is much better put together than Night of 100 Frights which is a high point

At times, the game can seem a little slow, and there is too much dialogue and not enough action. But, for a few moment it is fun, very fun in
fact. You have to find clues and items that are hidden and have to figure out a way to use them. (as you are more set on looking for clues to solve a on going mystery) but finding all the goodies is time consuming enough to keep interest. Some puzzles are confusing; you have to reset pipes so that no water leaks and each pipe moves another. The game also requires you to press a certain button countless times to capture ghosts and it's the same throughout the entire game. It gets really boring and tiring on the fingers to take 30 hits to capture one ghost. (The bigger the ghosts, the more you must press said button).

One good thing is the fact that you can play as Shaggy or Scooby and switch back and forth at any given time and that is a great bonus. The graphics are also good, infact they are just as good as Night of 100 Frights and the five or six bonus mini games are definitely challenging and the villains are great.

Scooby-Doo: Mystery Mayhem is very much aimed at young children, with no adult language or themes, no blood, guts or murder and it has a wonderful Scooby retro feel to it but it just isn't gripping enough to hold interest.

I would say Scooby-Doo: Mystery Mayhem is a much better game for the younger crowd. But for older kids, stick with Night of 100 Frights.

I love Scooby Doo. This game also has my favorite type of story mode: Episodic. The graphics are good and each mystery was fun.
