Thematic Elements, Some Unsettling Images

Movie Description

Saving Mr. Banks tells the tale of Walt Disney's dogged persistence in producing a film version of the beloved British children's book Mary Poppins. In spite of Disney's high profile and reputation, Mary Poppins' author, P.L. Travers, wants nothing to do with Hollywood. She fears a film version of her book will be a crass piece of commercial tripe. Disney is not the kind of guy to give up, so he sets out to convince the wary writer that he and his imagineers will create a respectful, magical film from her works. The ending is obvious to anyone who has seen Disney's Mary Poppins, but the story of how it came to be through the unlikely pairing of disparate personalities is fascinating.
