SSX...The Next Best?

SSX lets you board real life mountain ranges letting boarders feel a little more immersed in the game. The graphics, of course, are beautiful and trick animations are crisp and jaw dropping. In addition there's "gear" for each of the 9 deadly decents such as armor, solar powered heat suit, pulse goggles, and a wing suit to make it more than a snowboarding game. The downside I see is that if you're familiar with the last SSX title, there's very limited customization of snowboarders. You were able to change glove and goggle style and color. Each character has a basic style but they let you play around a little bit. Not here. There's outfits you can buy to simply change color of clothes, or if you want to spend massive credits for one of the suits with perks. But this was the biggest disappointment. There's so much you can do to customize a snowboard or choose color schemes you want without spending all your creds since it costs 15,000 for each color change. The gameplay is good with an added rewind feature for when you make a mistake. You will find yourself sometimes pushing a button to do a trick only to have nothing happen because of it's sluggish controls coming out of the rewind. Good 'ol EA is making you pay for an online pass of you have it through gamefly. Definitely buy if you will be playing online with friends. If not, solid rent.
