the last few harvest moon series game has had a few glitches but this game came out really well. This is the third game in this series and they ironed out allot of things. The monsters have gotten smarter and crafting is a little easier much more fanciful creatures that do allot more. as always good Story and Tons of Playtime. hours of fun.

This game has become one of my favorite Wii games. If you have ever played a harvest moon game, then you will have a better understanding of what this game is.

It is a harvest moon game that is blended with role playing and fantasy. There is the gardening aspect, the romancing of the town girls, and the money and strategy aspect of all the traditional harvest moon games. But Rune factory takes it a step farther. There are "dungeons" that can be explored, farmed, and pillaged ( minerals, wild various herbs, grasses, fruits, mushrooms.....). There are cute little "monsters" that can be befriended and taken back to your farm- or sent back to their world. The monsters can drop rare items that can be used to make new weapons, armors, and tool upgrades. There are bosses in the dungeons that when beaten, help progress the storyline. There are "runes" - like harvest spirits- that must be managed in order to help your crops grow and your harvests become more plentiful. There is fishing and cooking as well in the game.
The game is open ended. Meaning you can keep playing after finishing the main storyline. You can play the storyline or you can just do your own thing as well. There are very few time limits on things, so you can basically play at your own pace. There are plenty of ways to make money. It is all up to how you want to play.

The game is a lot of fun. It is a great addictive time waster. If you like harvest moon games, then you will most likely enjoy this game. This is just harvest moon with a fantasy rpg storyline added.

I loved the game so much that I had to purchase it from gamefly. I give it a 9.
