This game definitely gets points from me for trying a little bit of a different twist on strategy RPGs (to do a physical attack, you move your character through the enemies), but it falls short in actually creating a quality game. The elements are there, but they have a tough time bringing it all together.
The good: I can appreciate their attempt to try something new. Also, the options for what you can do with your team members when they aren't included in battle is interesting (sending them on quests, sending them to increase certain stats, going shopping, etc.)
The bad: One nagging complaint is that unlike most games, if you have a magic user and you decide to use their magic before moving them, you lose the ability to move them. you either make your character move at the beginning of their turn or not at all. Also, the items system is a little weak and the shopping system is VERY flawed - the only way you can shop is by sending a teammate who is not in the battle to the market while you battle. You can't tell them what to get either, you just tell them the type of item you want (armor, weapon, accessory), and they buy whatever they want.
Overall, I think it's worth the rental for a few days, and I look forward to Atlus (one of my favorite developers), making some sort of sequel to this game that improves upon the mistakes, because this game had a LOT of potential.
