this game turned out to be a nice surprise, but obviously not for everyone out there.
my brother tried it and he...didnt like it, at all.
either you like it, or you dont.
plain and simple.
dont let the negative reviews keep you from renting it though, rent it and try it out for yourself.

An excellent mix of Dragon Quest VIII and Dark Cloud 2, this little gem makes me believe in the PS2 once more! The voice cast is astounding and the game play is more like Dark Cloud 2 instead of that famous one that came out earlier that looks like they are peeing on each other...

The leveling up is amusing but can be quite a chore if you aren't into the monster hunting and some of the controls take a little while to get used to, but if you are looking for a great space pirate RPG (and who isn't, nowadays?), this is the one you need to put everything down for, RIGHT NOW!

i first saw rogue galaxy for the first time earlier this year and i was amazed and how the game looked and it play way better then it looks. You don't do the wait and attack in this game, you actually fight. this part of the game was greatly influenced from Kingdom hearts in which this battle system worked very well. The levels are flawless and beautiful, the cut scenes are different, and the worlds are vast with level design and enemy design as well. If you compare this game to Final Fantasy 12, they both tie. Where Final Fantasy 12 didn't do well in, Rogue Galaxy did perfectly and where Rogue galaxy do well in, final Fantasy exceeded in. This is by far one of the best games for the PS2 and ends the system with a bang!
