Sometimes your best days are behind you. Sometimes, they're just around the corner. For Rocky Balboa, both are true. Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) is now approaching 60, and is back in Philadelphia where he runs a deli called Adrian's, named after his beloved wife who died of cancer. People come to the restaurant just to hear him tell stories of being in the ring, and he happily obliges, posing for pictures with fans. When a sports network shows a virtual fight between Rocky and the current heavyweight champ, Mason 'The Line' Dixon, the fight shows Rocky coming out on top. Rocky signs up for his license and Dixon suggests they go at it, giving Rocky one last shot at the title. Rocky's son, Paulie, and Duke join the team as Rocky proves, once and for all, he truly is the best.
