I must first note that this is the first game I've played since Finishing Metal Gear Solid 4. If you haven't played it yet STOP READING AND GO BUY IT NOW! With MGS4 setting the bar so high you have to expect more from games then we used to as gamers (hardcore or other). With that said "The Bousne Conspracy" was ultimatly a disappointment. Controls were sluggish (which shouldn't happen in the year 2008), audio would drop (which shouldn't happen on a blu-ray), and the game look sad overall (which shouldn't be on the PS3).
The title sums it up perfectly. Extremely repetitive, with awesome cut-scenes to finish a fight using the Bourne take-downs. Very frustrating to watch yourself repeatedly gunned down by the next guy around the corner. There's really only so much of the same old tricks I'm willing to watch and therefore, I couldn't rate this game any higher than a 7. What it lacks in functionality, it almost makes up for in visual aesthetics. The take-downs are great to watch, the Dragon's Lair-esque interactive movie sequences are a fun throw-back, and the story moves quickly like the books/movies did. Fun to play, wouldn't buy, mildly encourage renting.
This game started off by being one of the coolest games I've playing lately. The take downs and environment takedowns really added to the game play but after a while it just got very repetitive. The "combos" are always the same punch punch punch, jab jab jab, hard kick over and over again. The shooting wasn't really top of the line either, no zooming or anything, just point and shoot. The driving chapter really wasn't impressive either. You could barely see any incoming cars causing head on collisions all the time, random cars seemed to come out of side roads on purpose to ram you and it really wasn't anything like the movie except for the mini cooper. The rest of the game however, did a relatively good job at following the movies plot line and actually brought up previous mission before Bourne lost his memory which I found really interesting. The graphics were pretty good as well so the only reason I don't rate this game higher than a 7 is because of its repetitiveness.
