I've read a few reviews talking about "wonky combat systems" and "bad mechanics", but the real unforgivable sin in this game are the bugs and glitches that cause you to lose your entire game.
This happened to me after playing this game for four days. Apparently I spoke with one NPC BEFORE speaking with an another apparently important NPC and, because this was out of sequence, this some how glitched up my game and kept me from finishing a conversation to complete a quest for the main story line. The end result was the total halting of the entire game progression.
The way I see it, these kinds of problems should never leave the trouble shooting and testing phase but I guess some people really want to earn a buck rather than create a working game.
Where to begin? just about every aspect of this game was horrible. The graphics were about the best part, and even they looked like something off the original x box. The sound and voice acting sucked and the things the characters said were always something very corny. The controls were ridiculous; you couldn't adjust the sensitivity of the movement controls, and that made for you having to do very controlled motions when manipulating the camera. I cant say much for the story, as i played this game for about 20 minutes hoping something would quench my absolute boredom, but alas, I couldn't play any longer without having thoughts of destroying my x box with the game inside. If you have the patience to see what lies beyond the first 'chapter' of the game then by all means, enjoy!
So This game started out on the ground running in a lot of ways. It doesn't have any real tutorial and, if you're not careful you can run into something that can destroy you fairly easily and, when it does give you a hint often it neglects to mention you need to upgrade your skills first. (which is more annoying than it sounds.)
what started me to lose my enjoyment of this game; went like this. Hey I leveled up okay stats all went up by 0, I got learning points (However I use those at the beginning of the game.) and, my health didn't recover...
Then the reality of this games lack of health regeneration and, constant starvation of gold starts kicking in. (Oh look I just took out that stronger version of a wolf... looting... I got the same wolf tooth as the weaker ones! I had to use several items to kill this thing. I basically spent more gold fighting this thing than I gained.
Even at this point I remained hopeful but, when I wanted to talk to someone and, I accidentally stole the grog on the table. got beat up and, that person refused to talk to me. (basically forever unless you can get the right item.) Enough was enough.
