A Good Party Game that Can Get Redundant

It’s Carnival time at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and the characters from the movie, Rio are out to celebrate by engaging in party games - 31 mini games in this compilation.
I enjoyed playing most of the 31 games, but found repetition between them. In one mini game you have to collect fruit and stand on a perch when the music stops. In another you collect fruit and have to freeze when the music stops, and in another you collect fruit and have to place it in a barrel just before another parrot sees you with the fruit.
Then there’s one game where you hit other players with mudballs, one where you hit other players with mudballs and try to wash off the mud stuck on you, one where you hit other players with a dodge ball.
This much redundancy makes me think that the makers of this game are really scrapping the bottom of the proverbial barrel. There might be about 20 different games in this compilation.
The redundancy continues with the modes. There’s a separate section for multiplayer use, but any section can be played multiplayer, so there’s no need for that separate segment.
And one of the modes is completely disposable: the Story Mode. There’s almost no story going on here - it’s play three games, see a very short cutscene, play three more games, see another very short cutscene and so on.
There are good things about this compilation, though. I liked the Carnival Wheel a lot, and several of the mini games are fun to play with three other friends. There’s a bunch of high scores for players to put their names on, and the game has the same charm and delightful colors that the movie has.
Rio, the game, is good for parties, but they lackluster Story Mode and redundant mini games and game modes takes it down a notch. RENT IT.

This was a really fun game for all of us to play.

Few things you should know as a parent:
The instructions are printed - so someone who reads must be present when playing the game, without reading the instructions on each level it doesn't make much sense.

Every player needs a nunchuck. You can't play without one.

Other than that, the levels were fun, the animation was cute and the kids loved playing together.
