This game is a ton of fun. It's like the best parts of Resistance 1 combined with the best parts of Resistance 2. I'm glad that regenerating health is gone, that made previous games too easy. The weapon variety is an absolute blast, and the game is just difficult enough to keep you on your toes without killing you all the time. Add in vehicle levels and we have an extremely fun and varied game.
Now for the downside. This game can get quite glitchy. Since there is no "restart from checkpoint" option, I had to kill myself at least twice to get AI to go where they needed to. Often, AI would stand near doors they were supposed to open and nothing would happen. Also frustrating is the occasional lack of direction. It's usually okay, since the overall game is rather linear, but sometimes, such as when in a giant room trying to find one little conduit to destroy, it can get quite frustrating.
I'd say definitely rent this game. Since the rental doesn't include multiplayer (you have to buy it for that), it's got a lack of replayability, I was done with the whole thing in a couple days. 8/10.
When i first played this game i have to admit i was kinda disappionted, i was expecting graphics as good as Infamous, god of war and Rage. The graphics are kinda PS2=ish but it grew on me the more i played. The weapons they give you at first takes forever to kill the aliens.
I love the story about a 1950's alien invasion in a small town in Oklahoma.... good stuff.
But you can pick up better more powerful weapons as you go along.
It's a FPS which i am not a huge fan of, but it's not a bad game. The graphics and FPS is the reason i gave it an 8. I was going to give it a 7 but the more i played the more i liked.
I won't purchase this game but its fun to play. It's a good rent for sure. Just some advice for renters, play it for at least an hour before you make a decision, the longer you play the more you will like
