But if you are like me and you use to have hours of fun playing the original resident evils for the PS one you would deffinately love this one.
As you already know in this game you are not a one man army and have tons of ammo for each wepon like you do in RE 4 and 5. This game is a true survival horror, which means you have to conserve ammo by choseing which monster to kill and not mention all the crazy puzzels you have to solve.
If you are a fan of the original you will notice that the voice acting has finally gotten better the controls are pretty much the same apart from your using a remote and nunchuk, and they have added new rooms and changes to all of the areas (the mansion, guard house etc) also they have added some new twists and changes to the story lines, and they have also added some new creaturs and wepons.
Please dont listen to any of the bad reviews about this game if you liked the orignal and are thinking about renting or buying this game, you will not regret it.

If you have never played the GCN version I recommend you to hop onto this one. Although it is nearly identical the new control options are quite comfortable, I personally like the Wii remote + nunchuk. The game is revamped from the original PS version, its going to be a whole new experience.
So if you have not picked up the GCN version I recommend it.

All that being said, I absolutely loved the GC Resident Evil. It took a while, and some effort, to get used to it but I was hooked. It was the only game I had played that really made me feel like I was in a scary movie. The odd fixed camera angles and the difficult controls only added to this great experience. Sometimes, you don't know what's around the next corner or what will jump out at you and you can't peek. When you encounter an enemy, you can't easily dodge or jump out of the way of attacks. Neither can you just start pumping bullets into the enemy since ammo can be a precious commodity. Also, some enemies can come back faster and stronger if you kill them. Sometimes it's better to just avoid them all together to save ammo, health, and hassle. The game had amazing atmosphere, a fantastic story, good puzzles, and a lot of replay value. You'll definitely want to play it over and over.
Since I loved the GC version so much, I really can't say anything bad about this Wii version since it is basically a carbon copy.

The thing is though I loved this game, it was my first time playing it and it was just what i hoped it would be. Yes i had to get used to the control scheme, but really, it's not that hard guys, if you're having trouble just run around a little in an empty room to get used to things, that's what i usually do with a new game.
Now if you are expecting something more like four or five you need to realize before you get this game. Four and five are more action based, with more shooter elements, where as number one is mainly survival horror, with a portion of action, and more puzzle solving.
This was my two cents about this game, I'd recommend it as a rent if you just want to check it out, but if you really love the Resident Evil series then i say you should buy it, thirty bucks is not a bad price at all for the game that started a great survival horror series.

I would recommend that anyone who has played the original definately try this out as its a very worth while experience. Along with some people who maybe have never played it before should try it now that its been re-done to today's standards. This is a definate rental, although I doubt that anyone other than the "hardcore" fans of this series like myself would be buying it.

"it suck camaera was on the wall chackter"
And that was all I could take.
Okay, not let me discuss this game.
The story? Not all that great.
Controls? Good for the type of game it is, but by today's standards, horrible.
Graphics? It's a GameCube game. It's not new. They're GameCube graphics.
Now more in-depth.
This is a Wii port of a GameCube game that is a remake of a PS1 game.
The controls aren't too great. But for the kind of game it is, where camera angles make the game seem cinematic instead of like a game, you need this control type. Pushing up on the nunchuck's analog stick moves the character forward. Pushing to the sides rotates.
It's very simple, really. It you play the game for more than 3 seconds you'll get used to it, and then you'll be able to play other great games, such as the rest of the RE series and Silent Hill (Except 4 & 5).
If you want to know how today's preferred controls would work in an RE game, play Outbreak.
Now, the story.
It's cliche. Terribly, terribly cliche. The GameCube remake made the story make a bit more sense and less cliche, but the basic idea is still horribly, awfully cliche.
An evil corporation makes a super virus to create the ultimate soldiers, and it creates zombies.
Yeah.
It gets a bit deeper than that, and overall I think it's okay. The RE series got better stories as it went along, so 2, 3, CV, 4 & 0 have good stories.
I exclude 5, because it was terrible.
Anyway. The graphics.
GameCube, we love you.
Aaaaand that's it.
Yes, I am giving it a 10.
And no, I don't think that's even a bit wrong.

The controls/camera shifts are just... awful. You will die multiple times from running in to an enemy when you don't mean to. You will waste ammo. You will miss timed objectives over and over because you can't turn a corner easily.
I don't have a lot of time to play, and the VERY limited inventory and save system are equally frustrating. I finally stopped about 2/3s of the way into the game and said "I am not enjoying this. I haven't even been scared once."
The story and setting are cool though. If they remade it with RE4's perspective, it would be a must have. But I can't recommend a game that actively works against players.
