I wasn't expecting much, because this just got eviscerated by critics and fans. I understand the nature of the criticism - this doesn't have a "Resident Evil" feel for substantial portions - but not how strong people feel about that nor the overlooking of the strengths of the game. It plays well. It has great graphics. It's lengthy. It has a cool story. Yes, some of the campaigns are more first person shooter oriented than old school survival horror, but they're well made nonetheless. I very much enjoyed the game and recommend it to others, particularly those a little apprehensive because of the negative reviews.
I really wanted this to be the RE game I have been waiting for on a HD console, but it just got tiring. I never finished it, let me rephrase that, I didn't feel a need to finish it. This series needs a REBOOT bad! Leon and the old characters really have so little depth and value. I might as well play HoD, because I care about Agent G more than the survival of any character in RE at this point.
What went wrong with RE6 is that the best story is not Leon, and he is most likely the first character that most people will pick and I must admit Capcom dropped the ball big time! Now Chris, Jake, Ada, missions are the bomb in actuality this is like getting four RE games in one!
I sleeped on this game because of all the bad reviews and I must say the game does have it's flaws (camera) but there is know game out there that is like this action packed zombie bioterrorizium thriller! Yeah it is not RE1,2, and 3 but times have changed and it would not make since for it to remain survival horror. Even those games have there flaws all I am saying is give the game a shot and do not start with Leon. It is good game that should have been great.
