I REALLY wanted to like this game more than I did. I absolutely loved Resident Evil 4 and this game seemed like it had the same potential, but it ran in the other direction. I really hope that Capcom considers returning to the style in Resident Evil 4. I loved the first 3 resident evil games, as well, but I felt that 4 was really where the franchise peaked. The one cool thing was that someone could just drop into your game if you play online. The story will intersect with other character's stories (i.e. Leon runs into Ada) and you'll play with someone for a bit and then just go on with your story. That part was pretty cool.
The gameplay and level design just wasn't what I'd hoped for. If you're new to Resident Evil, I suggest Resident Evil 4.
I just wanted to shoot up some zombies. Is that too much to ask? Controls are annoying and hard to understand. You spend the first 10 minutes dragging a wounded friend around some alleyways, just to die repeatedly (at least until you figure out what the game is trying to tell you to do with the controller) from the first zombie you encounter. Again, I just want to shoot some zombies. If I wanted to think, I'd read a book.
