An Amazing Rockstar Creation

Let's start out by saying: "This is an amazing game." There's only a couple minor criticizations that I could even think of making to this brilliant game, but I'll get to that later.
The feel of Red Dead is incredible. It immerses you into the most incredible Western experience that I've ever felt. Everything about the map seems very realistic (to a videogame extent, where they try to cram different climates on one map, one corner being forest/snowy mountainous, the other 90% being desert.) Sprinting along the desert seeing nothing but cacti, patches of grass, and huge mesas and spectactular rock formations in the distance. Armadillos, rabbits, deer, elk, goats, and snakes scurrying out of the way of your stampeding stallion, and at night, hearing the howls of a coyote pack on the horizon. I think in reality, it's just the well-tuned environment that is the foundation of how this is a great game. Every detail that you'd ever think of as Western presents itself somewhere in this game.
The storyline is another part of this game that needs mentioning. You essentially play the Western equivalent of a badass on his quest to save his family, yada yada, play the game, it's a great Western story, I was impressed. And I think it's the character dialogue that really brought the story to life for me. The New Austin voices had the awesome tinge of Southern accent, with very authentic Mexican accents (as far as a white American from Oregon can tell), the voice actors must have been on their game. I'm specifically impressed with the voices of John Marston and Bonnie MacFarlane, every word spoken seemed genuine to their character.
Now, I'm going to just flatly state my criticizations. Water deeper than 5 feet=death, swimming is always a bad subtraction from any game. Fast travel exists, but it requires that you set up camp first, it's just inconvenient. And that beavers aren't typically in packs running around on a hill NEXT to a river.
100% a must play.
