This game is a very addicting game. and for game of the year challengers i would have to say step it up like 10 notches. this game is going to be hard to beat. one of the things i think are great about this game is you get to choose to be good or bad and the graphics and gameplay are perfect. the music fits the game perfectly and is just an all around perfect game. this game is personally the best game i ever played.

I've been excited about this game for a couple months now, but the excitement really started to build up in the last week. Once I had the game, I quickly immersed myself into all the different aspects of this beautiful game.

Single Player:
With a storyline that in itself is a game and an amazing go anywhere, do anything open world feel, the single player is rock solid. The characters are extremely thought out and have tons of depth. Some are hilarious while others will have you wanting to shoot them yourself. All in all the single player will keep a gamer occupied for quite some time, and thats not to mention the second time you'll play just to be an outlaw instead of the hero (or vis versa).

Free Roam:
Honestly, this right here is the game. If the game had no single player, no multiplayer, and only free roam, I would still recommend getting the game wholeheartedly. My friends and I went from hunting bears in the northern mountains, to fending off gangs in Mexico, and then finally getting our bounty up to 5000 dollars in one of the bigger towns by fending off hordes of law enforcement officers...and that was the first day. The free roam experience takes the term "game lobby" to a whole different level. There can be about 15 people in a single free roam and any of those people can choose to form a posse of up to 8 players. Then once the posses are formed the two gangs can duke it out wherever they please, or they can go their separate ways and do the things I described before.

If Free Roam was not enough, they still let play organized games including: deathmatch, team deathmatch, a capture the flag type game, and countless others. I have not delved very deeply into the multiplayer experience (been to caught up in free roam), but I can assure you it is a ton of fun.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend that if you have the money, don't rent this game, BUY the game. On the other hand, if you don't, for sure rent it and believe me, you'll love it.

I bought this game the day it came out after a friend of mine told me about it, he was all hyped up and sent me some emails about it, it sounded pretty decent. Well it's more than decent. The free roam is HUGE, I'd say it comes closer to what the old west was like except maybe you can take a few more bullets than they could back in the day. The graphics are like works of art, the gameplay is great alone or online. Looting peoples bodies reminded me of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, mostly because you CAN loot bodies, the hunting is fun, getting into trouble is fun, getting ambushed is fun, (only when you kill them all and loot the bodies). I suggest making friends online OR get friends together with the game, create a posse, and take down some bandit hideouts or shoot up a town! the possibilities in this game seem endless! If you rent this I can practically guarantee you'll want to own it!
