When you play RAC you play for mainly one reason. To blow stuff up. This game gives you that, along side with the awesome story telling that we've come to expect from Insomniac. Funny characters and interesting weapon design bring the whole thing to an awesome conclusion of the Future Series.

Horrible

Same Old Platformer Camera Problems

When will they finally understand that when you need the camera to move they should let you move it but when you need it to always be in the same place it is always behind you? I am going to go for the sure thing and say NEVER. This is the Problem inherent with all Games of this type very very very very very poor camera use and yet they continue to do the same kind of camera movement and non-movement, why? because that would take thinking normally and that is just never going to happen.So because of the camera and the way it works this game gets a bad rating of 3

this game at first was gonna be ok but then it was amazing the graphics the cut scenes and the characters are amazing especial some old ones. the gameplay same but good. story amazing, missions good. this game had funny moments and everything. the ending great. i like tht u can play as clank which ik is the same in others but this clank was good not like in secret agent clank but still good. if your a ratchet and clank i recommend u get this game so the the score 10/10 good game one of the best games in the series.

Overall Ratchet and Clank: A Cr-ck in Time (edited for GameFly's language filter) is a great game. The game is straightforward, fun and interesting throughout the title in many ways. I will say though that the game is simple, and took a day or two to beat with 75% trophy completion. For this reason, I do recommend playing the game on Hard the first time through. Trust me, it's not that hard.

Overall the game is great for both adults and kids and is full of neat surprises, fun weapons, and beautiful levels that will keep you entertained. I would say the story should last you a solid 8-10 hours depending on your ability, and desire to complete side missions. Overall, I highly recommend the game to anyone looking for a good time.

Best Ratchet and Clank title by far

First things first, I had gotten Ratchet and Clank 1 in a PS2 bundle pretty much the week or so after release, wasn't sure what to expect. Absolutely loved the game, except couldn't beat Drek for the longest time, drove me crazy (I was 9, don't be too harsh). Ever since then, I've loved Ratchet and Clank, every game seemed to improve on the former, except maybe Deadlocked, that was a bit of a set back for me.

Flash forward to now, and CiT is a fantastic game. Granted, it is a bit darker than it's older titles, but it's only because it finally gives us answers to what happens to the Lombax population in more detail, more about Ratchet's family, etc. Story was a little predictable, but there's not much you can do with time travel in fiction that hasn't already been done.

Being able to fly from planet to planet was a new surprise, though now it's a static horizontal only motion, no up down, makes space combat a bit difficult. Has a ton of smaller planets to mess around on.

For anyone with a Wii that played Mario Galaxy, CiT is a similar vein, being able to travel from planet to planet, larger planets move the plot along, smaller planets have side quests and puzzles, things to find, etc.

Weapons were good in this game, but felt a bit weak (though I was playing on Hard, so that could've effected it.)

The Constructo weapon mods are kind of a let down, simply because there are 15 or so weapons iirc, but only three are compatible with the mods, a blaster, grenade launcher, and shotgun.

Overall, these complaints were minor, the game was simply fantastic. In my opinion, CiT best in the series, followed by Going Commando.

This game has everything. Constantly twisting story, massive areas of exploration, long hours of gameplay, and constantly changing battles.

The sheer volume of weapons at your disposal is astounding. I find myself constantly switching between them for different situations.

The story is top notch and the acting is superb.

You travel to sectors, which have mini planets and large planets. Much of your game will be spent on different large planets.

I would recommend this game to anyone. If you haven't played this yet, why not?

love the game,as starting to be a gamer this was good game,and sure to check out more games like it. the only thing i would say was a little bother is that sometimes the camera was hard to get it to face the front,so there for i couldn't see the enemies in front so took long to defeat.

I was impressed. The game sucked me in with all the playables and hidden items you had to find. Not bad at all. But the bosses were easy to overcome.

I absolutely Loved this game, I am not a big fan of shooting games as I have never been good at it. But this game is awesome. it took me about 6 months to finish the whole game. Not an avid gamer but do play more than most people I know. Have recommended this game to many people.

I've never played a Ratchet and Clank game, but I've always been interested. I figure I'm take a run at it, and I can say, this is the most polished game I've ever played. First off it's starts off like a "Pixar" or "DreamWorks" computer animated movie, with beautiful art direction, voice acting, and score. The animation is top notch the best I've seen in a game seen Uncharted 2. The colors are bright and vibrated and main characters are funny and warm-hearted. Now to the game play, it's a fun old school feel of platforming, puzzles, and shooting, with other variate in gameplay. They all work excellent giving this game a fun enjoyable feel, instead of the seriousness in current modern shooters and hard core games. Listen if you like the story of computer animated movie like "The Incredibles" or "Toy Story" with gameplay that is fun and enjoyable, rent this game you won't regret it.

What an adventure I embarked on the other day. I rented this as a sort of "why not?" queue spot. Not familiar with the franchise but familiar with the genre, I thought I was about to go on a relatively bland adventure the likes of Crash Bandicoot, having no idea what was in store for me.

As I sat there on a fall Saturday afternoon, the wife and son off shopping for the day, I decided some mindless fun might be good for the soul. I was going to blow off some steam and just play a game where thinking wasn't a requirement. How wrong I was.

From the opening few minutes of the game I realized that this was not some ordinary platformer. This was a full on, power packed thrill ride that has you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

The game has two parallel story lines that play out side by side with a lot of "meanwhile's" for good measure. Your either Clank playing out his adventure or Ratchet trying to find him and both are full of action, puzzles, and blazing fun.

Ratchet's adventure has you landing on planets, fighting space battles, and wreaking havoc. Clanks is a little more tame but nevetheless enjoyable with puzzles galore.

The weapons are an amazing array of melee and projectile along with a temporal staff that does some interesting tricks.

I cannot say enough about the diversity of this game from Ratchets perspective. I have yet to find one part that I would not happily play for a second time. The idea of landing on a planet, finding your objective, returning to your ship and exploring space is not something many games really delve into. Usually they take place on one or the other with references to the opposite. Then there are the little space stations and different space faring ports to explore for some mini fun. Oh, and two words, HOVER BOOTS!!!!! Simply a BLAST!!

Clanks perspective is stagnant but no less fun. The puzzles are amazing, the environement is beautiful, and the tools are fun.

So that's it, BEST GAME EVER!! Buy it!

I loved the Ratchet and Clank games when I was younger, and now that I'm older, I love them even more. I really wish they would make an HD collection of R&C! This game has a lot of new features, like weapon customization (even if its only a few guns). If your a fan of Ratchet and Clank, and have yet to play this, do it! If your new to the series, you might want to try Tools of Destruction first, as its always better to play games in order.

the answer is no because even in the worst of ratchet and clank games there are long story lines and just amazing things you wouldnt expect and the zoni why oh why would i waste my time collecting all of them just to fight lord vorcelon for the third time i mean come on he is so annoying and i mean sure the weapons are cool but why give me 3 quick select weapon wheels when i can only fill up one and a half of them i mean come on its like they wanted me to be dissapointed in them meaning the creators of the game but overall the story line was great but to short i kinda wanted save more planets as clank or even go back in time more or something like that because the time portals were pretty cool and i kinda wander why clank could not just call a time portal up that would let general azmith save the lombaxes or even just go back in time and find out where they went i mean come on but again overall even with the short story the graphics were great and i would recomend for a rent but never a buy unless you want to own it which i dont and on a side note the longer im a member with gamefly the longer it is taking them to give me each game which is horribly annoying i hope you enjoyed my review

Good rental, only problem is some times you cannot see where you need to go, but the gameplay is forgiving enough to wing it. Challenge Mode isn't harder if you've beaten the game. You get more advance weapons but not armor. Upgrade the weapons you like using to Level 5, so during boss fights you have a Heavy hitting arsenal (3 or more weapons at V5).

Story - I loved it, I'm a sucker for R&C Games and I really enjoy the humor and seriousness of the story.

Gameplay - Same as all the R&C Games basically, its a good system that works, every now and then I would get backed into a corner while fighting and the camera would flip out and there are a few spots you can get stuck in so watch out for those tight corners.

You can mod your weapons which is really neat, I loved having control over my blast radius, if I wanted to charge my shot or make it rapid fire and so on great touch.

I really enjoyed the Clank aspect of the game and thought it brought alot to the table. I was never disappointed when the game cut to Clank the puzzles are really fun!

They made the spaceship alot more fun and the little planets you can land on reminded me of something off super mario galaxy very enjoyable way to get upgrades.

Graphics - Beautiful colors I really enjoyed it, my fiance would always comment how pretty the game looked.

Controls - Works great, you can change the controls to how you like.

Fantastic game 9/10 only because of the occasional camera problem and getting stuck and no online battle mode which would have been a blast!

This Ratchet and Clank left me with wanting more... The story is magnificent :) the colors are splendid! so vivid! I give this game a total 10/10 the ONLY thing I disliked about this game, was that it ended... I just wanted MORE! But thank God for the wonderful 'Challenge Mode' re-playability is always wonderful! :3

I loved all the Ratchet and clanks including this one.

pros: great game that fits well with the rest of the games in the franchise. So many weapons.

cons: The biggest problem is that it freezes... a lot. From what I could tell from other people's reviews this is not uncommon. For me it froze whenever I bought a new weapon and with so many weapons it was a big deal. It also froze at one part and corrupted the save file so I suggest multiple save files if you decide to rent this anyway. Finally aiming sucked it never quite shot where I wanted it to.

Not just for kids

I have been a fan of the Ratchet and Clank series for many many years now. After all this time, you would think that these games would wear out their welcome, but that just not the case. This game was a ton of fun. While the pixar-type animation style of the series may turn off some hardcore gamers at first, dont let looks fool you... This game is fun for any age. I really tip my hat to Insomniac for their ability to keep the action fresh after all these years, Ratchet and Clank is consistently one of the best platformers out there.

The story is a good mix of action and jokes (maybe a little funnier to the younger audience, but thats ok) that strikes a pretty decent balance. The voice acting is tolerably over-the-top and graphics in some of the cinematics could really rival some seen in movie theaters today. The series' trademark crazy weapons make a return and the new time-manipulation puzzles are a welcome addition. Definitely try this one for some light fun. Can't be doom and gloom all the time, people!

What I liked:
Graphics - Fantastic and detailed, environments had good variation, some strange textures failing in certain scenes but it was rare.
Story - Not boring, but not overly convoluted.
Action - Weapons were as fun as ever and hover boots added to the game.
Puzzles - Clank's puzzles (while simple) were surprisingly challenging and satisfying.

What I didnt:
Space combat - Seemed half-baked, obviously filler.
Targeting - Some weapons just dont seem to want to auto target, kind of tricky at times.
Aiming - Trying to shoot through first person view was pretty lame and at least one gun requires it.

Overall, you really cant go wrong. Throw this one in your queue between some downers, itll provide some light fun.

Not much which can be said new here, but every new game in the series seems to have a new tweak of improvement - better graphics, better camera, new minigames, ect.

The only thing keeping this game from a higher score (and this is purely personal) are the "minigames", specifically dogfights against other spaceships, and the clank "time-walking" minigame, which felt bloodless, though it was a cool concept.
