Understand the appeal...

...but it's not for me. I played for a few hours, almost as an experiment. I've never played one of the monster hunter games, and I know this has been compared to the same. I completely get the appeal that many see in the game, but it's just not for me. Way to repetitive for my tastes. And I never got the sense that my character was progressing. I was collecting tons of little things, but my character was just the same guy with new stuff. not what I'm looking for in an RPG, but again...I see the appeal. There are probably hundreds of hours of solid gameplay in this for those looking for a monster hunter type game.

From the second you begin your first quest, you are hooked. This game is like Monster Hunter, but more streamlined, and has way better controls (love the usage of the right-stick for camera!). Using potions from a quick touch on the screen is also way more convenient.

Enemies are difficult in packs and Bosses are fairly challenging. The game really surprised me with over 30 hours of gameplay on top of all the fun of this "offline MMO-style" RPG. I don't understand the lower review scores here, but this game is one to own if you are a fan of MMO's or RPG's in general.

Horrible

Generic's blandest cousin

So there is really only one way to describe this game, and that is Bland, its the definition of eh Japanese RPGs. The devs were not content to just be bland though, they've gone a step further to make things stupid, Mage, and Cleric both can only cast after a melee combo, a mage should NEVER be in ANY way reliant on Melee, that ruins the point of a mage, there now just flashy melee people, a fireball for a mage here is not as useful as a warrior with a flame weapon. So you have 4 warriors, ranger, and rogue, assuming rouge is much more than a fast warrior, I didn't have time to test, honestly ruining the mage was enough to tick me off, and convince me the developers are incompetent. If this is any example of how Ragnarok Online 2 is, then dear god I hope it dies, and that RO1 continues to grow, RO Was actually pretty entertaining in both mechanics, and art style, everything here tells me that they just wanted to make a Multiplayer JRPG, and just picked whatever seemed popular and then did it poorly. BLANDNESS THY NAME IS RAGNAROK ODYSSEY!

Avoid this, and go play RO on the DS much better title, and a good example of the original.
