Game did NOT work in My 3DS

I got this game thinking it would be fun to play...but I couldn't play it at all for some reason. I checked it out....no broken pieces, no dust or scratches...then i took it out and put sticker star in to see if that worked.. it did..then i put this game in and NOTHING!! the games are designed the same, so why does one work and not the other? is it my 3ds?? I HOPE NOT!!
