A good game nearly unplayable on the PS2

I had played the demo of Puzzle Quest on the PC and loved it. It was a fun, challenging piece of work. Unfortunately, the translation to the PS2 leaves much to be desired. The game appears to be present completely unchanged. That's not necessarily good for a port.
My wife and I both found it extremely difficult to make out the text on the screen from our normal game playing positions across the room from our TV.
And if you can't keep up with the messaging, you really can't play the game.
If you sit close to the screen (PC monitor close, that is) then this version may really please you, otherwise, save the eyestrain and play something else.
